Sustainability and conservation are directly linked to agribusiness. Our work involves the soil, the water, the wind, all the natural processes that contribute to or create obstacles for production. But one thing is certain: we need to pay attention to preserving the environment.

In recent years there has been a significant increase in the conservation of native vegetation on private properties, which is very important for the economic and socio-environmental situation in Brazil. This has guaranteed different ways of using native vegetation areas: the traditional activity of converting forested areas for commercial use and the replacement of native vegetation and successor formations with other land cover, in agricultural, industrial, power generation and transmission, mining and transportation activities, among others.

Some actions are fundamental to this conservation, generating good results for both the environment and crop productivity. We can highlight the practices of no-till farming, with revolving and organic cover that favors the soil, the rotation of crops on the land, nourishing and guaranteeing high productivity for long periods and the arrangement of crops in strips to ensure better soil protection. In addition, in areas of native vegetation, actions to control fires, restore riparian vegetation and reforestation have a positive influence on preserving the environment.

Keeping an eye out for new technologies that help reduce environmental degradation and aid agricultural production is a differential to take to the field. Many farmers have already adopted good conservation practices on their properties and are already sharing positive results in terms of productivity, in parallel with caring for nature.
